to have a best friend like him? His dark sense of humor. His friendliness. It’s never awkward,never stressful; always open, always honest,easy. There is never small talk. Small talk is for strangers or acquaintances;small talk is to avoid the awkward. No, he skips that part and dives into the silly, the inside jokes, the deeper long conversations that make a friendship meaningful. He loves to laugh. He’s willing to learn.He admits his fears. He’s going to be a lawyer one day, or a counselor like his dad. He wants to go to seminary. Always offers before he is asked, never takes things personally, is aware of his flaws, embraces the weirdness. And that’s nice. He’s a nice guy. I hope I meet more of them in this life. Funny how after three years you start to meet a person the month before graduation.makes me wonder what would it have been like if I had known you earlier?
